Summer getaway at Hindsgavl Castle
An idyllic mini-break at Hindsgavl Castle on Funen offers the perfect setting for relaxation, pampering and, last but not least, time for each other.
Enjoy the bright summer nights on the terrace, take a refreshing dip from the secluded bathing jetty. Or you can simply laze on the lawn in the summer sun with a good book and a view of the sea through the beech trees.
Our guests often say that their holiday begins the moment they turn off the main road, drive through the forest and down the avenue towards the castle. Peace descends at the sight of the deer park and the beautiful, well-preserved castle. The idyllic surroundings along the Little Belt and the historic buildings – filled with little stories from a past era – all contribute to creating the setting for a truly unique holiday on Funen.
The stay can be booked with arrival from 26 June and latest departure on 17 August 2026.

Mini-break on Funen with space, light and air!
A holiday at Hindsgavl Castle is more than just a regular hotel stay for two. On a mini-break with us, you get plenty of space, light and fresh sea air. Whatever the season, the scenic surroundings offer a wealth of experiences.
Our 40,000 m2 castle park is one of Denmark’s most beautiful, and here you can stroll hand in hand along the water’s edge – and perhaps continue on into the forest and out to Dyrehaven. Along the way, you can work up an appetite for dinner in the evening, and you also have the option of ordering a light lunch or some delicious homemade baked goods.
The area around Hindsgavl, Middelfart and Lillebælt have something for everyone. When you have finished exploring nature on foot, you can, for example, go on a whale safari on the Little Belt or get a thrill from bridge walking over the Old Little Belt Bridge, or you can visit museums or Middelfart’s charming old town.

A spontaneous getaway from it all
Our primary task is to pamper you and make your getaway a truly special experience – and as private as possible. Whether it is the gardener in the kitchen garden, the chef at the buffet or the receptionist who takes care of you, we are ready to help you throughout your stay. Read more about our approach to service and responsibility.
And if you are unable to come, your reservation can be cancelled until 4 p.m. the day before arrival. Read more about our purchase and cancellation terms here.

Unique surroundings steeped in history
Hindsgavl Castle is truly one of a kind. It features both classicist architecture, with the main building dating back to the 1700s, and modern, completely renovated, raw design in the castle barn and farm buildings. The castle’s dramatic history dates back to the 12th century, and several legends from that time are still told as part of the castle’s history.
Ask our receptionists at check-in when it is possible to experience the historic castle rooms.
