About Hindsgavl Castle
In Middelfart on the scenic Hindsgavl peninsula – the north-western tip of the island Funen – Hindsgavl Castle is situated in unique surroundings by The Little Belt. The dramatic history of the castle goes back to the 12th century, and several myths and legends from then are still told today as a part of the castle’s history.
Today, we are a dynamic, modern hotel and conference centre with a historical heritage from the 18th century – evident in the classicistic main building, the renovated castle barn, and the old stables that are now transformed into hotel rooms, function rooms, and meeting facilities in a modern design.

We are not your typical castle
At Hindsgavl Castle we are uniquely our own. In the main building (the castle), you will find meeting facilities and dining rooms, which can be booked fully or partially for conferences or functions. Our rooms are either in the castle wings, in the renovated stables – or secluded in the little Master Smith House away from the main buildings – and are very different regarding decoration, size and style.
Therefore, we are not a traditional castle, where you sleep, eat, and stay inside the castle at all times. On the other hand, no two stays are the same at Hindsgavl Castle, and we can help you design your own, unique experience. We promise that we will spoil you from the moment you arrive ‘til you leave.

The landscape surrounding Hindsgavl Castle is some of Denmark’s finest. From the foot of the castle, you can see the glittering waters of the Little Belt thru the old trees of the castle park. On the other side, the castle’s land lies next to Hindsgavl Dyrehave (a deer park), which consists of a fenced area of 165 acres. Here you have the perfect opportunity to go for a walk, run or bicycle trip and encounter deer and does, beautiful forests, water holes and magnificent slopes.

The Castle Kitchen on Hindsgavl Castle has its very own profile with great focus on quality, fresh produce and menus that change according to season. Along with the castle’s two gardeners, the chefs at Hindsgavl Castle ensure that the crops from our own kitchen garden form part of the menus all year round.
